What the ticket includes

The Fondation Monet Giverny ticket covers the entire estate: the pink house with green shutters (blue sitting room, yellow dining room, kitchen with Rouen tiles, upstairs bedrooms, and the 243 Japanese prints), the Clos Normand in front of the house, the underground passage, and the water garden with the Japanese bridge and water-lily pond. The large Nymphéas studio is also open; the former first studio houses the gift shop. It does not include the Musée des Impressionnismes, 300 meters away, which sells its own tickets.

What’s the entry price for Giverny?

I deliberately avoid listing numbers. The full rate applies to adults; a reduced rate is available for young people and students, and the youngest enter for free. The amounts are set by the Fondation, and I’d rather direct you to the booking module, where they appear when you select your date, than risk quoting a price that will be outdated next season. What truly impacts your budget is this: if you book an excursion from Paris or an on-site guided tour, entry is included in the package price, and you won’t need to purchase anything extra on-site.

Skip-the-line access: how it works

There’s no separate skip-the-line ticket. Every ticket bought in advance—whether on the official site or as part of a guided package—is presented at entrance 1 bis, sente Leroy, where the line is for pre-booked tickets. The ticket-office queue, however, grows quickly between 11 AM and 4 PM from mid-May to late August; I’ve seen waits that eat up a good chunk of the visit. The on-site guided tour uses a separate entrance with a group of no more than ten people. One nuance to note: the small-group minibus from Paris includes entry to the gardens and house but not skip-the-line access to the house. I clarify this on the day-trip from Paris page.

Timed ticket, tolerance, and final exit

The ticket is tied to a time slot. You can arrive up to one hour after your reserved time; beyond that, entry isn’t guaranteed. Tickets are neither exchangeable nor refundable, which can be frustrating if you book in April for a rainy day. And all exits are final: once you leave, you can’t re-enter, even to retrieve a forgotten sweater. Keep this in mind before heading to lunch in the village, and check the page on visit duration to plan your schedule. Why excursions include entry

All six options I compare on this site include the house-and-gardens ticket. For coach tours from Paris, it’s a logistical necessity: the guide ensures the group enters at the scheduled time without stopping at the ticket office. This removes the uncertainty of waiting in line but introduces another constraint—time on-site—which is limited on half-day tours and even more so on the Versailles combo. If you’re traveling by train, the on-site guided tour is the only one of the six that combines a ticket, skip-the-line access, and a French-speaking guide.
